This is an exact reproduction of an English miniature sampler, with a cut and drawn work border. The design is perfectly balanced with color variations from side to side due to unequal fading over the past two centuries. The cavorting lambs in the pasture in the lower third are stitched over one thread of linen, while the rest of the piece is worked over two threads of linen.
