Stitch Count: 192W x 206H
Model stitched on 32 count fabric - 'Cocoa' by Weeks Dye Works with one strand of embroidery floss.
This is a reproduction of an antique English sampler. The sampler was made by Hannah Hammond
in 1845. The original sampler has been stitched with wool threads on unbleached linen which has darkened
over the years. Our reproduction is charted for 32ct linen and hand dyed cotton with DMC
alternative.
The sampler has been worked partly in cross stitches over 2 threads and partly in cross stitches
over 1 thread. Use two strands of cotton for motifs that are stitched over 2 threads and one
strand for motifs that are stitched over one thread.
The sampler is stitched using stranded cottons by The Gentle Art and Weeks Dye Works.
The Gentle Art Sampler threads: Forest Glade, Holly Berry, Harvest Basket, Rhubarb, Shaker White, GIngersnap, Apple Cider x 2, Old HIckory, Raspberry Frost, Piney Woods, LInen.
