"Blackwork embroidery has been practiced for many centuries with methods changing as a result of the development of different materials and styles over time. Today blackwork remains heavily influenced by Moorish designs and now commonly uses threads in colours other than black. this is an example using geometric blackwork patterning".
Model worked on 32 count Belfast linen. Stitching with Perle 12 (outline) and stranded cotton (fill stitches).
