“At first glance one would guess this sampler was made in Scotland because of the unusual border of illuminated letters, but upon closer inspection Susey has given credit to her teacher “Maryan Robinson of Bradford.” Bradford is in North Yorkshire, not far from the border with Scotland. Presumably Susey’s teacher was educated in the needle arts in Scotland”
On 35 count linen, the finished reproduction will measure approximately 10 ½” x15 ½”
Stitches used are cross over one and two threads of line, double running, long arm cross, four-sided eyelet and counted satin.
Recommended for intermediate level needleworkers.
